With a view to overcome obstacles for Vietnamese companies and promote Vietnamese products, especially processed food and agricultural products by approaching Japanese purchasers and distributors companies in Kansai region so as to enhance Vietnam-Japan trade cooperation, increase export turnover, the Vietnam Trade Office in Osaka planned and organized the first Vietnamese booth at Food Style Kansai Expo 2021, from June 15th to 17th, 2021.

This year, there were 19 Vietnamese companies which had products displayed, introduced and promoted at the booth. These products were officially imported, namely coffee, dried fruits, processed spices, noodles, Phở, canned food (Khanh Hoa's bird's nest, all kinds of Minh Trung's porridges), mango, ambarella, pickled eggplant, fresh lychee... Some other potential products of Vietnam like processed cashews, teas, confectionery, dried fruits… were also introduced at the booth to seek opportunities to access the Japanese market. In particular, Omachi instant noodle with 3 flavors of Stewed Ribs with Five Fruits, Stewed Beef Sauce and Spicy Shrimp was also displayed at the booth. These 3 noodle have entered the Japanese market and are planned to be widely distributed from the beginning of July 2021.

Although it was the first time participating in the Fair, the Vietnamese booth hosted by the Vietnam Trade Office in Osaka made a good impression, attracting the attention of many attendees, Japanese companies operating in the fields of importing and distributing food and brought about fruitful outcomes in facilitating Vietnamese products.
