Message from the Consul General
Distinguished Guests and Dear Friends,
It is a profound honor for me to be appointed as the Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Osaka, Japan. I officially began my mission here on April 15, 2026.
The relationship between Viet Nam and Japan is currently at its strongest point in history. This follows the official elevation of our bilateral ties to a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World” in November 2023. Within this flourishing framework, I am delighted to witness the vibrant cooperation between Viet Nam and the Kansai region. This area is also home to a dynamic community of over 100,000 Vietnamese nationals living, studying, and working.
On a personal note, I share a special bond with Japan. Having spent many years here studying and working, I hold many cherished memories of this country. I am deeply moved by the warm welcome I have received from both Vietnamese and Japanese friends upon my return.
In the coming term, I am committed to giving my best efforts to fulfill the duties entrusted to me by the Party and State. My goal is to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and the Kansai region across all sectors, from local-level partnerships, trade, and investment to emerging fields like digital transformation, green transition, healthcare, and science and technology.
The Consulate General will always remain a reliable pillar for the Vietnamese community in Kansai. We are dedicated to walking alongside you to build a united and strong community, contributing to the prosperity of both nations and the lasting bond between our people.
I look forward to receiving your continued support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Nguyen Truong Son
Consul General
of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Osaka
